with an Arris XB6 Modem. which never really had any issues. In the System Log .... General Log tab, the "Log only messages more urgent than" should be set to Debug, which I believe is the default setting.
It basically says it's offline. In Bridge mode the router would be assigned 192.168.0.1 with the modem using 192.168.100.1 for its access. Click enable bridge mode. Solved! My issues 1) It stops working randomly. This thing has major issues and needs to be scrapped for another model of router that addresses the problems. The Technicolor modem is a Broadcom BCM-3390 modem while the Arris modem is an Intel Puma 7 modem. I don't have simple step-by-step instructions written out yet. This was coming from an Arris TG1682G (XB3?) It shouldn't. very small packet of 1-3 second disconnects every 30 seconds that's making gaming impossible. I am now no longer getting the gigabit speed (or 9xx) that I was previously. Just ask! 03:49 PM 03-01-2020 Do you have any knowledge as to whether Shaw is even provisioning any XB6 modems with the broadcom chipset?
Movie scenes like the 2 examples I have listed-bully gets a beatdown. No clue. Not quite.
Friend gets fantastic ping with cheaper service. All I get on the TV is Welcome...followed by network configuration notification. After that you xb6 will be just a modem, New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast, More posts from the Comcast_Xfinity community. Agree the puma6 test has issues for me too. It's still a mystery, but I'll take it!!! I don't have cable but use IPTV services so needed the faster speed and this seemed to fit the bill quite - minimal buffering issues and overall very happy. @Arrakai I am sorry to hear of the frustrations you've been experiencing. I'm well versed with the ASUS routers but I'm stumped and very frustrated...It could be something simple that I'm overlooking but....I don't think so.
I downgraded back to my previous setup, the constant issues were killing my work as well as my wife's freelance stuff. I have a steady and strong download/upload speed and no breaks in regular internet service. 02-29-2020 The question that you want an answer to is whether the XB6 is the Arris Puma 7 version or the new Technicolour built Broadcom BCM-3390 based XB6. But still! Had two techs out at my house, showed them multiple problem connections to games and then when downgraded to my old connection and modem everything worked fine. Lots of people have been echoing similar issues in the thread announcing shaw doubling their speeds. Wifi drops. 10:32 PM Hello, I just recently swapped out my Comcast Xfinity XB6-T modem for the CM1100. A few days ago I had the xb6 installed with the gig service.
The old units actually work up to 900 mbps, but Shaw is requiring customers to use the XB6 for Internet 600.
