Florida Hope Scholarship Program The Hope Scholarship Program (Program) provides a public-school student who was subjected to an incident of violence or bullying at school the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to attend an eligible private school rather than remain in an unsafe school environment. Though any victim of a qualified incident who meets these criteria may be eligible for a Hope Scholarship, national rates indicate as few as one in four K–12 students experience bullying, thus potentially limiting an otherwise expansive eligibility rate. the specific grant must be redemed only at the pre-approved property in which you have appplied. Beginning with the 2018-2019 school year, a student enrolled in a Florida public school in kindergarten through grade 12 who has been subjected to an incident of battery; harassment; hazing; bullying; kidnapping; physical attack; robbery; sexual offenses, harassment, assault, or battery; threat or intimidation; or fighting at school the opportunity to transfer to another public school with capacity or enroll in an approved private school under the Hope Scholarship. you may only use one grant, if approved. Districts are also obligated by law to adopt and review at least every three years a policy that among other provisions prohibits bullying and harassment of a student or employee of a public K-12 educational institution.
